If you love or need snow this weekend is for you. If you can't wait for the snow to be gone you won't have to wait long as next week is going to be a much different storm scenario.
Next week's storm will have a lot more energy and moisture with it. It's also expected to take the dreaded "inland runner" track. That would be big problems for the east coast with a low level jet moving through. Think back to the Grinch Storm the week before Christmas when we had all the high wind and power outages. We are also going to have heavy snowfall (mountains) and rapid snowmelt (at the coast). This storm has the potential to do damage next Tue/Wed.
You'll notice that wind gusts at ground level will be more than 50 mph and at elevation into the 60s and 70s. That's going to bring down trees and power lines from NY to points northeast.
Stripe of snow from storm #1 this weekend.
Only to be mostly washed away by storm #2 next Tue/Wed. However, the mountains will get a bunch of snow before changing to rain.
It's pretty incredible to see a foot of snow washed away in a few days. I anticipate flooding problems and quite a mess from next week's storm. I'll talk more about this soon. Stay tuned and thanks for subscribing.
