I confess that I’m a thin crust guy. Always have been and probably always will be. I find it’s hard to get thick crust pizza crispy. But that changes when you visit Scratch Bakery in South Portland, Maine.
I was waiting for the pizza arrival at 10-30 am on Friday and Saturday morning. It comes off the truck hot and ready to serve. I see tray one come in and it’s pepperoni.
It’s so good. The crust is so light. The classic cheesy pepperoni pizza but loaded with small discs of flavor.
I needed to try the cheese slice this time though. Boy was I impressed.
Talk about air bubbles. It’s thick crust pizza that is light as a pillow. It’s so crispy and delicious. I am craving it now.
The pictures don’t do it justice. Even if you prefer thin crust like I do this will make you question life choices.
The pizza is there until sellout. Get there early. Save me a slice if you are ahead of me in line please.
Scratch Bakery in SoPo. I hear the bagels are legendary. But I can’t stop getting the pizza.
I can see why you needed to try the plain cheese too because the pepperoni was not letting the cheese through on the first one. The puffy crust could be tempting even for those who are fans of thin crust like myself. Looks like a winner in taste.
Great writing! Thanks for sharing :)
