This is worst-case scenario for the southeast US. A rapidly intensifying hurricane with short lead time and fast forward momentum.
The storm is going to get incredibly strong overnight into Thursday and the wind field will expand dramatically.
The storm will go over 30 degree C Gulf of Mexico water and rapidly intensify.
Storm surge will be devastating and in the order of up to 20 feet for the Big Bend area of Florida. It doesn't get much worse as the ocean comes onshore tomorrow night.
The wind field will grow and be devastating as the forward momentum pushes inland.
Impacts will be felt far outside the cone and especially on the eastern side of the storm.
It will get to a category 4 at least and that's by wind classification. If the pressure drops down enough a cat 5 is well within reach.
Godspeed to everyone in the path.
